Square Apart — Stand Apart Series by Quocrea

World's first 5A Counterweight hybrid build :
Square Apart runs on the QA System (Quoc Axis System), a threaded interface invented by Quoc Anh that lets you swap between two materials on the same body — the first system of its kind built specifically for 5A CW.

One body, endless setups :
Change a half, get a genuinely different response — heavier or lighter, faster or slower tug resistance — all within the same shape and footprint.

Precision-engineered :
Each half is CNC-machined in a two-step process to hold the tight tolerances the QA System demands, with the bearing seat built directly into the structure for a clean, snag-free tug.

The idea :
One body, multiple setups — gear that adapts to all the styles for 5A players.

Our dedication to excellence extends beyond materials; it encompasses the artistry and craftsmanship illustrated in every piece we create.

Intentional Design

The classic square shape delivers a satisfying feel when caught, while the rounded edges help reduce any discomfort during play.

Double Precision

Two halves, each shaped by its own dedicated CNC process, come together in one seamless, perfectly aligned body.

World's Most Distinct

A 5A counterweight designed to swap materials and colors, unlocking a different feel with every combination.

ABOUT STAND APART SERIES

Stand Apart is Quocrea's flagship series of 5A counterweights,
built around one core idea:

"Gear should adapt to the player, not the other way around."

Every product in the series runs on the QA System (Quoc Axis System), a high precision-threaded interface that lets a single body accept swappable halves in different materials and colors — turning one CW into a platform for multiple setups instead of a single fixed configuration.

ABOUT SQUARE APART

This is the world's first 5A counterweight built on a hybrid construction — running on the QA System ( Quoc Axis System ), a high-precision threaded interface that lets you swap between two different materials or colors on the same body, without getting a whole new CW to change how it plays or how it looks.

Unscrew the joint, swap in a different half, and the response shifts with it — heavier or lighter, faster or slower in the tug — all within the same shape and footprint. Combine different colors across the two halves for a two-tone build unique to your setup.

One CW, reconfigured to match how you play.

Any Questions About Square Apart?

Here's some quick answers for you.

Will it become misaligned after disassembling, reassembling, or swapping the body?

No, they will still fit perfectly when disassembled and reassembled, even with the square shape.

It took us a great deal of time to engineer the QA system to ensure that the top and bottom parts can be swapped with different materials or new colors that will be released in the future.

However, please note that if the product is over-tightened beyond its end point, misalignment may occur. This is a common issue with any threaded structure, including yoyos, so we kindly ask that you handle the product with care.

Is it only suitable for advanced-level 5A players?

No! We can assure you that all products from the Stand Apart series, including the Square Apart, are suitable for all 5A skill levels and playing styles.

So feel free to use it whether you are just starting to learn 5A or planning to compete.

Isn't $25 USD a bit expensive for a 5A CW?

Most CWs on the market just need one CNC step to make a CW, with an optional second step to square it off.

Square Apart is different — it's built from two separate parts, a top and a bottom half, each requiring its own CNC code, then a separate shape-cutting step.

The hardest part was making the threaded structure work perfectly in a square shape with zero misalignment, while still letting players swap halves with different materials or future colors.

That took months to get right.

What's QA System?

The QA System (Quoc Axis System) is a high-precision, technical threaded interface for 5A CWs invented by Quoc Anh, with engineering support from Tony Sung — a top CAD engineer and one of the best yoyo players in the world, who helped bring the idea from sketch to reality.

It lets a single body accept two swappable halves, each in a different material or color, joined through a precision-threaded axis — so players can change weight distribution, blend colors, and adjust tug response without changing the shape or footprint of the CW.
